Hi, my name is Sarah and I love making jewellery.
I work and live in Amsterdam, in the RedLightDistrict.
For two days I work for Jantje Fleischhut, and the rest
of the week, I work for myself.

My fascination is nature with its constant process of growing. Changing every moment, and every season. Trees in spring, blades of gras, lichen on trees, a forest growing old.

Now I'm starting a new project. I want to use real lichen, to let it grow on my jewellery which I made especially for the lichen.

Why use lichen?
A lichen is a combination between a fungus and algae. The symbiotic fungus, a lichen, cannot live without each other, like jewellery cannot live without the human body, without that it becomes an object

What if a jewel can grow with us, reveal how long it has lived and what it has been through?
A jewel that changes with us, years in process, and is always growing.

This is going to be a long project, so meanwhile you can see my graduations work I made in Maastricht. And other previous jewellery.
